And, no, kids: the girl’s mother was not on-site, and she did not take her daughter to Jack Nicholson’s house for a photography session/lame attempt at seduction/rape. Polanski picked her up at her house. The girl had had a notion that she should take a friend along for the shoot, but Polanski was in a hurry when he came by the house.
And it wouldn’t have mattered if the mother had been there, by the way: mothers cannot give consent on behalf of their 13-year-old daughters for either vaginal or anal intercourse when the girls themselves are saying “no, no,” even through a drug- and alcohol-induced haze.
Under the circumstances, “sex with a minor” was a freakin’ gift from heaven that Polanski should have been kissing the ground for.
What the fuck is wrong with people?

Upside: none of the libs I know in RL are defending this garbage.
