Still Not Getting the Prajean Thing.

by Little Miss Attila on November 15, 2009

Don’t get AllahP’s continued insistence that Christians shouldn’t masturbate.

Don’t get Ace’s contention that he was somehow forced to defend Prajean when she was booted from the Pageant. Or misled into it. Or something:

I feel she chumped me in order to advance her own legal interests. And there’s nothing hypocritical about that, and nothing about Christianity about that, and nothing about sex about that.

It’s just dishonest, and mercenary, and I don’t appreciate it.

So, that’s that. Yes, she got a raw deal. Yes, a lot of other pageant hopefuls have sexual skeletons in the closet that never come out because the gay left in the media isn’t determined to bring them down, by hook or by kink.

But still, for me, I’m very much done defending her.

Did she call Ace up, assure him that she’d never sent any boyfriends any sex tapes, and implore him for help? Or did he volunteer to do so out of a misguided sense of “team spirit”?

I cannot get excited by the fact that this girl made sexy tapes for her boyfriend. I’m with Tommy Christopher:

The response . . . was to make fun of her breasts, compare her to a Nazi and a dog, leak R-rated pictures of her, and now, delight in the revelation of this sex tape. The point of this is supposed to be to expose her as a hypocrite, which eludes me somewhat. She’s a model, so how do breast implants and sexy pictures make her a hypocrite? The fact that she sent a sex video to her boyfriend doesn’t make her a hypocrite, it makes her an awesome girlfriend. No, the real point was to embarrass and humiliate her. The effect was not to silence, but to amplify her.

What makes Carrie Prejean a hypocrite is her insistence that she wants to protect marriages by supporting laws that destroy them. If the left had focused more on that, and less on destroying her personally, Carrie Prejean would be a dim memory now. Instead, they get to be wrong right alongside her.

Emphasis mine.

Of course, when Prajean compares herself to Sarah Palin, who is an energy wonk/former Governor of Alaska, it makes me giggle. Prajean was a beauty contestant, for crying out loud. Nothing more.

UPDATE: Cynthia Yockey has a lovely blog entry on Prajean that manages not to indulge in schadenfreude, which must have been quite tempting. It is, rather, a reasonably dispassionate takedown of a public-ish figure to whom people listened to for, really . . . the oddest of reasons, as I see it.

UPDATE II: Darleen has more, encompassing her own Prageresque/my husbandesque views on gay marriage, a few thoughts on how and why conservatives have, statistically speaking, better sex than liberals, and the most pivotal issue here, which is that Prajean’s ex-boyfriend is total pondscum. Preach it, Sister.

You know what? She’s probably not a virgin any more, either.

why hasn’t Ace or Allah said word one about the scummy, lowlife, sleazebag of an ex-boyfriend that sold the tapes?

Well it may well be something in the makeup of Allah and Ace. Allah, for example, is a famous misanthrope who, on Twitter at least, revels in his solitary state.

Ace? Well, he’s just sorta short and slight. Big voice though.

Either way, I’m better it is, as it so often and always is, derived from past experience with women who shall not be name more than from Ms. Prejean. That and yearning for the babe one will never ever have…. “Feh, she’s not so much…”

Prajean? Does the scarlet letter now show up in one’s name?

Carrie Prejean’s “Thought Crime.”
“Well I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one way or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And, you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anybody out there. But that’s how I was raised and I believe that it should be between a man and a woman.”

Immediately she was labeled a “dumb bitch” and the hounds of Hell were released to snoop through her garbage looking for skid marks on discarded underwear, any revealing pictures, reports of anything that she had ever said or done, interviews with anyone who ever talked to her or dated her, 24-hour surveillance lest she appear silly, sexual, or angry, etc. In other words, typical left-wing vetting of anyone that gets national coverage for taking a position that the left doesn’t agree with.

Seriously, how much of a Christian can anyone be if his or her primary claim to fame is based, in part, on walking around showing off his/her bod?

She pitched her tent in that middle ground between godliness and worldliness; unfortunately that middle ground is entirely quicksand.

Let’s ask Lady Godiva(Godgifu).

Seems most of the sin is on the part of the viewer.

Didn’t our problems start when we noticed we were naked? And we tries organic apples? Best to avoid that judging stuff. And overpriced fruit.

LMA

While Ms. Yockey’s initial post is a fairly good read, she is indulging in some emotionally driven, unexamined statements which, unfortunately, lead to her refusing to address pondscum boyfriend.

I am trying very very hard to be unemotional in my responses.
