    In the White House, I’d just as soon have the rodent be as large as possible.

    The ones in my mom’s attic . . . I would prefer that those were more diminutive, though I understand one has to get even more aggressive with the steel wool and spackle. (”I understand” meaning “back when they were of a smaller variety, it was a blessing I didn’t quite appreciate, and isn’t life much more interesting, now that the new crowd has moved in.” Oh, that woman.)

    My husband thinks I should send pictures to my brother, to motivate him to get down here and help out more. My brother says no, he believes me–and since he had to assassinate one himself recently in the attic of his rental place with a hammer, he has no special need for my “dead rodents” pix.
