Like Topsy, It’s Just Grown.

There’s tremendous anger at Glenn Reynolds among the Obama True Believers over this post.

The animus has resulted in tremendous criticism of the messages disseminated by a law professor in Tennessee, whose public persona affects . . . a few book sales.

You know what’s more patriotic than dissent? When people just shut up. Come on, man: shut up.

Note how he's positioned himself against a red, white, and blue background. Pathetic.

UPDATE: Men who cook are intrinsically sexy, because food is the way to more than a woman’s heart, IYKWIMAITTD.

The way to a man’s heart? Well—it’s flattery. But you already knew that, deep down. Right?

One mustn’t blaspheme The One.

And a bag-type vacuum cleaner? With no HEPA filter? That’s it! Throw the
Luddites out! This proves they don’t understand what a stimulus program is all about. When they read this, they’ll probably go out and get a Dyson. Clowns.

By the way, I’ve been told that bagless vacuum cleaners lose their glamour in a hurry when one is using them to clean up rat shit and mouse shit.

The Obama haters like Mr. Reynolds are so funny. None of you see anything wrong with assigning the mistaken interpretation of the President’s picture to his loyal followers. Isn’t it equally possible that the anti-Obama crowd see the distorted and false image due to their pre-conceived negative opinions?

This is not only possible, but likely. Therefore, the wise PR flack who wants to create as positive an image as possible will select photos that are as unambiguously positive as possible. Most of the photo-shooting world knows that it’s quite likely that narrowed eyes and a down-the-nose gaze at someone CAN be interpreted negatively and so should be avoided. Not this group, however. Whatever they think “cool” must be so. That’s the message — Team Obama is isolated and therefore deaf to opinions other than their own.

The lidded eye photo just looks odd, so it is fun to comment on it. Does it mean anything–no of course not. But it is fun when the usual suspects go all nutty over it. Reynolds and Althouse, keep up the good work.

Just make sure there is lots of lint and fibers spinning around in there first.
And what is all the rat and mouse shit doing on the Oval Office rug? Those bastards should be ashamed.

Seeing Obama is supposed to be like walking into the girl’s shower for the first time
in your life, assuming you are a hetero male, of course. Pick the combo that puts the wind in your sail. Saying (or seeing) anything negative is blasphemy.

The best I can tell, the whole argument seems to be that Obama is a vapid, psuedointellectual, incompetent poseur is because he’s black.

The confusing part is that this is the argument from the Left.

Is the crazy Right getting more and more obscure in its hatred of Obama?

Sure seems like it.

Kudos for resisting the urge to call Obama “uppity” in the photo.

Must be killing y’all.

Ha. Obots out in force this morning. It’s so funny to watch them huff about the reaction to this photo. Face it: It’s a bad presidential photo. Of course, everyone appears in bad photo sometime. But most choose not to publicize bad photos of themselves. Unless the publicist has no ability to realize it’s a bad photo, and then that person needs an aesthetic intervention. Althouse & Reynolds are therefore performing a public service, or something.

And if you’re wondering why the right is so gleefully linking the photo, it’s because of the caption contest value. There’s comedy gold to be mined here.

The photo is average and unremarkable.

The stink the crazy Right is making about just shows how impotent they’ve become.

Which is a very good thing.

The difference between pictures of Glenn and Pictures of Obama are … you can tell Glenn has a soul and Obama has an … ATTITUDE. It’s all so silly, but fun. Keep up the GREAT work, Glenn.

Why don’t you talk to a Conservative or meet one instead of
repeating crap you picked up in the Leftosphere? Words and thoughts like “uppity” seemed to be a major part of the Left’s vocabulary when Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, Rod Paige and others were around. Look at the Rice cartoons that the Left floated.

Obama’s people put up the photo themselves and they have no one to blame again.
Maybe Obama can order another search of similar occurences in the Bush Administration and waste taxpayer dollars and resources once again.

Thanks!

Ponce, you moron. Looking down his nose, eyes slitted, almost-shooting-daggers and crossed arms? that’s not a cool look, it’s positively cold. To me it says “you’re boring the shit out of me, why don’t you go bug Michelle?”

The truth is, I love that photo, and the one of the vacant Oval Office, and the one of Big O throwing his hands up in a meeting in Hawaii. I totally recommend that the White House publish more like ’em. They beak the Presidential mold, and do great things for Obama’s image.

Faster, please . . .

Obama just looks tired in the photo, Darth.

I realize you Beck/Palin morons just can’t handle someone like Obama running America and have to lash out daily, but please try to avoid dragging the entire Republican party into the sewer during your moronic tantrums, M’kay?

No, the argument is that the Right believes that Obama is a vapid, psuedointellectual, incompetent poseur is because he’s black.

That’s their prism — what they think we think when we see something — and we’re guilty because of what they cook up in their imaginations.

Great work if you can get it.

Ponce, lighten up. Not everything involving Obama has to be the end of all things. I thought it looked like he was looking at Biden with absolute contempt, which by the way, is how I would look at him because Joe Biden is a doofus.

Set aside politics. If we females were still single, which guy would we rather go out on a date with? A sneering jug-eared He Who Must Not Be Named or a friendly guy who cooks us a yummy dinner?? I’d say Helen found a better guy than Michelle did…

“I thought it looked like he was looking at Biden with absolute contempt”

One constant of the Beck/Palin Republicans is their intellectual dishonesty.

One week they can be shrieking that the only person who can determine what someone meant in that person, the next week they’re gazing into their crap-filled crystal balls to tell us all what someone in a photo is feeling.

If only the know-nothing anti-science approach to life appealed to more than Instacracker’s fans down South, eh?

Well Ponce, I guess you have no intention of trying the “lighten up” thing. You do understand that you are popping perfectly good capillaries that you may someday need over a picture, right? And unintentionally (I’m sure) you are amusing the hell out of me.
