In Fairness to the President . . .

by Little Miss Attila on June 21, 2010

he’s playing to his strengths by telling people how to raise their kids.

My issue with his suggestion that people “mute the commercials” when they watch TV is that the commercials tend to be better-written than anything else on television. (And that includes the sports that the President thinks we should be watching. Other than basketball, sports are pretty incomprehensible. Football, especially, is full of complicated plays that I’ve never really been able to understand. I’ve asked my husband, but he doesn’t want to talk during football—a game that’s important enough to watch is important enough to watch, as he sees it.)

If you’re serious about learning more about football, you should definitely check out this blog: http://smartfootball.com/ . Look for links to training videos, and you’ll get a very deep education.

Please Joy.
You’re a very bright person and I’m sure you would love baseball if you would just try. It is the most intellectual of all the spectator sports with a lot of strategy taking place that casual spectators don’t understand.

And football isn’t that hard if you just let your eyes follow the ball. Plus you girls get to watch all those big guys in tight pants.

But basketball?
To quote George Will:
“In my wildest dreams there is no basketball.”
