His dad died unexpectedly. Also, he’s got a financial thing going on, so he needs people to give their “July dues” early. (Dang—I’ve grown to hate doing fundraising for other bloggers. But he’s got a kid, and he just lost his father.)

That’s not very scourgey at all it’s downright nice of you I think.
The fundraising post you did for me was quite a lifesaver, if that takes any of the sting out. Thank you. God will multiply the contributions coming to you for your generosity in helping others. He knows how to make the pies any size He wants, and has all the ingredients.
Well, lately I’ve been trying to keep this site going, so in contrast to the first 5-6 years of this blog I’ve done most of my “outside fundraising” for actual charities (e.g. Soldiers Angeles, Haiti relief, Operation Valour-IT).
But when people [to whom I owe money] have kids I tend to pay my bills [to them] early and so forth [because as broke as I am, I still feel that families should get the first breaks]. I honestly think that the rightosphere is drastically underfunded; if I ran a foundation I’d sponsor medium-tier blogs–those that aren’t big enough to have a lot of ad revenue, but are nonetheless making important points that ought to be disseminated.
