Quote of the Year:
"I dash all of my fury, all of my love, all of my passion against the cross of Christ, and settle beneath their shards and fragments as they rain down upon me, and pass and bite and dissolve. And I pray, most particularly for the event or the person or the feeling that has roused my headstrong, foolish passion and lured me toward the illusion, and away from detachment, wherein is found humility and tranquility; wisdom and peace.
And because I am no saint, because I am so flawed, all of that only brings me up to the ground-level. My evolution is still in such a primitive stage that I am merely eyes in mud, staring into heaven, unable to do much to lift myself; altogether one with the muck."

RGA not RPA, right?
Another terrific ad. I particularly like the shot of Pelosi, looking demented, saying we’re going to have her vision of healthcare one way or another. And of course I can’t get enough of the “We’ve got to pass the bill so you can find out what’s in it” clip, which I’d guess lots of people think was a joke others were telling about Pelosi, not something she was stupid enough actually to say on camera. I’ve been hoping that will be a “I was against the war before I was for it” moment.
I kind of wish they wouldn’t use the “Omen”-style scary chorale music, though.
Wonder if Charlie Crist was invited to add to that shrill mess?
Shrill? Isn’t that anytime two or more Democrats congregate?
And isn’t “mess” a collective noun referring to Democrats?
A mess of Democrats was seen hastily departing the Capital as the crowds started to arrive with vats of tar and burlap sacks of feathers….
As opposed to the Republican governors who whine to the press about federal spending then fly to Washington to beg for even more pork for their backwards states?
Maybe the Democratic states who support these losers are getting tired of their hypocrisy and greed.
No pork going to Democrat States, that’s for sure.
Now how many Democrat governors turned down the stimulus money? Refresh my memory.
Earmarks, phonemarks…those are all copyrighted by the DNC, right? 30,000+requests in the first year the Dems took over the House in 2007
and beyond measure now? In 2007, the House Appropriations Committee report accompanying the Iraq supplemental spending bill vetoed by President Bush boldly declared: “This bill, as reported, contains no congressional earmarks, limited tax benefits, or limited tariff benefits.” But it set aside money for pet projects including $25 million for spinach, $60 million for salmon fisheries and $5 million for aquaculture. The waterfront outside Nancy’s four buildings near Pier 37 got a $25million face lift–no benefit to her, of course on another Bill that same year. That current (2010) Bill just passed? $10 billion for an Education Jobs Fund to temporarily bail out states facing budget shortfalls. $5.1 billion for the FEMA Disaster Relief Fund to pay for lingering costs of past disasters, such as Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Ike, and Gustav, and the Midwest floods of 2008. $4.95 billion to temporarily bail out the federal Pell Grant program which recently received billions in new funding when the government took over private college lending. $180 million to support $18 billion in federally guaranteed loans for clean energy. $538 million in new spending to deter waste, fraud and abuse in Medicare. $100 million to increase Community Development Block Grants in areas that have experienced flooding. $50 million to improve the Port of Guam. $31.5 million to support $1 billion in federally guaranteed USDA loans. $18 million to respond to disasters in the Mississippi River and its tributaries. $18 million for “emergency forest restoration.” $15 million for a highway safety study. $13 million for a new Capitol Police radio system. $10 million for emergency drought relief. $2 million to “investigate the causes of the recent financial crisis.”
How many Democratic governors are launching a phony crusade against federal spending, Darrel?
The citizens of Alaska, Arizona, Mississippi rely on massive federal subsidies to avoid looking like the residents of Gaza.
farm subsidies, disaster relief, welfare payments, etc. keep their states afloat…but you’d never know it listening to their wingnut governors while and moan, would you?
It remind me of when the were bellowing about how “moral” their state were while ZI was looking at data like this:
States ranked by rates of live births among women age 15-19 (births per thousand):
1. Mississippi (71)
2. Texas (69)
3. Arizona (67)
4. Arkansas (66)
5. New Mexico (66)
6. Georgia (63)
7. Louisiana (62)
8. Nevada (61)
9. Alabama (61)
10. Oklahoma (60)

Don’t mind Darrell, he was never good at math.
