The Anniversary of the UW Bombing in Madison, Wisconsin

by Little Miss Attila on August 25, 2010

Professort Althouse is running exerpts from a first-person account.

My brother in law was actually attending UW at the time, and was on-campus when it happened.

The student newspaper, the “Daily Cardinal,” edited by leftist “professional students,” ran a bunch of articles to the effect that the bombers who went to jail were “martyrs.” As noted in the bit about Karleton Armstrong in the Wikipedia article on the bombing,

In a 1986 interview about the attack, Armstrong said, “I still feel we can’t rationalize someone getting killed, but at that time we felt we should never have done the bombing at all. Now I don’t feel that way. I feel it was justified and should have been done. It just should have been done more responsibly.”

Kind of reminds you of “elementary education theorist” William Ayers, doesn’t it?
