Mystic Monks Coffee

by Little Miss Attila on November 29, 2010

. . . now sells religious gifts. I’ve heard great things about their coffee, though I’ve only given it as a gift; I’m waaaayyyy too cheap to drink it myself.

One thing about Roman Catholics: they do a much better job of monetizing religion than a lot of the Protestant sects manage.

(That was a joke, by the way; don’t hurt me!)

Interesting that they sell a deluxe edition of the Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible, which is considered the only acceptable one by Traditionalist/Latin-Rite Catholics (although some grudgingly approve of Msgr. Ronald Knox’ wonderfully literary translation of Scripture). The D-R is also big with old-school, Eastern Orthodox Anglophones.

Now, now, don’t sell the Protestants short– I don’t know of any Televangelists that made it big and are Catholic!

(Also teasing!)

(… Fulton Sheen doesn’t count)
