. . . the rape apologists.

(Although of course there appears to be some dispute as to whether Ms. Logan was raped. It was some sort of sexual assault, and Ms. Logan showed great physical courage.)

UPDATE: Kumbaya.

For some reason, I’m reminded of a joke:

US tourist in Mexico: You didn’t read my Miranda rights!
Mexican cop: We’re familiar with your Miranda, but ours wears a funny hat and dances on tables.

Or as Hannibal is famously quoted when in Rome, do as the Romans. I’ll also note without comment that someone at CBS figured that out when they decided to not press charges with Egyptian authorities, as that may have lead to the arrest of Ms. Logan.

You don’t get it. These are PROGRESSIVE womyn. Rape is just fine, as long as the right people get raped. How do you think these damaged minds would react if Sarah Palin got raped, or the Bush girls got roofied, or Tammy Bruce or Pamela Gelkler any other strong conservative woman?
You’re trying to talk sense to people who would cheer if YOU got raped. Keep that in mind the next time you get a Ponce post.

Whatever will the Republicans do when the oldsters still fighting the 60s (We won the Vietnam War!) start to die off?

The rapidly aging cranks who still hate the hippies, the feminists, the dope smokers, etc. are really all they have left.

ponce,

So you’re giving the younger generation a new target?

Thanks from all of us.

Dr. K.,

It’s tough to compete against Republican clowns like Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck.

The “younger generation” can be found laughing at them nightly while watching Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

It’s interesting that people selectively focus on the gender of the victim of the crime, as if only women can be raped. It may be recalled that one reason the Taliban gained credibility in parts of rural Afghanistan initiay was precisely because they opposed the practice by Afghan Army and police of rounding up local boys for the amusement of perverts in their HQ. Whatever one may think of the Taliban now, rural families back then perceived their boys as vulnerable to rape. I raise this issue because certain people are trying to use this horrible Egyptian crime to suggest that women should not be allowed to report in war zones. Just what would people with this point of view say to our heroic American servicewomen already serving in far worse hellholes? Where they face similar fates if captured? I am not arguing for callousness. But for respect for women already serving who are, quite frankly, a lot braver than the average one of us. We worry about getting mugged. They serve their country (or, in Logan’s case, try to report first hand on dangerous events) while I just blog about it. The fact is, most of the world is filled with people who are half civilized and life is risky. I don’t think cowering in fear or keeping women locked up “safe” ois the answer. I prefer Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition…

I see the spam hasn’t been paying attention to the relative ages of the Democrats and GOP caucuses. He seems a mite confused as to which side is following doddering old cranks to ruin…

And I’m sure you’ll provide with a link to a reputable polling firm that backs up the laughable claim that young voters prefer the Republican Party, Dicky?

Pew says “In polling conducted in 2010, 56% of Millennials identify as or lean Democratic; 36% identify as or lean Republican. Among older generations,”
