“The Battle for Madison”

by Little Miss Attila on February 17, 2011

Hackbarth’s phrase; he’s got some thoughts here:

There is a gaping hole in the budget that needs to be filled. Raising taxes in a sluggish economy is bad policy and a no-go for Gov. Walker. Thus, public employees will have to bear part of the burden.

The unions’ reaction has been nothing but insane.

Jim Hoft has video.

Ann Althouse has pictures of the massive litter that the pro-union protesters left behind, and has some Meade-footage of a major Godwin-law illustration.

And then, there’s Hot Air. Here’s Ed, who’s got video of the President sticking his nose into Wisconsin’s budget; to be fair, the man knows from budgets. Ed also places the Madison kerfuffle into context, other state governments are undertaking course-corrections in terms of public-sector benefits. He also had Kevin Binversie on his show today.

They used to say “As California goes, so goes the nation.” But the Golden State is way, way behind the curve these days; we need to support sanity in Wisconsin.

UPDATE: Steve Burri is running for State Senate in WI. Sort of.
