The EPA “Power Grab” Votes May Be Today in Both Houses.

by Little Miss Attila on April 6, 2011

Melt the phones!

Jazz Shaw has a summary of the bills, one in each Chamber, that seek to prevent the EPA from implementing its new onerous greenhouse-gas regulations. Keep in mind that although a lot of the most burdensome rules will fall upon the fossil-fuel industry, plenty of manufacturing and industrial enterprises will also face strangling levels of regulation. In the middle of a severe recession.

Jazz points out one of the most criminal aspects of the EPA’s power grab/extra-legislative cap and trade scheme: energy costs will go up very sharply; the poor–and those on fixed incomes–will be affected the most.

A letter in support of the bills was sent to congress yesterday by 24 groups that represent affected industries, and shows how much support these bills are getting, and how unpopular the new EPA proposals are among those who actually create huge numbers of jobs.

So please keep the phones jangling on both the House and the Senate side.

UPDATE: Bryan Preston has more.

Oh dear, looks like a defeat for the Republican Luddites.

I guess god has a reason for everything, though.

The party that made the Unibomber’s Luddite Manifesto National Energy Policy–the Democrats–calls
Republicans “luddites.” You guys don’t even try to hide your lies anymore.

I hope you get eaten by fish, ponce. And between classes at that community college of yours, see if you can find a
continuing education class on sucking cocks in Hell. I have a feeling you’re going to be needing it someday.

{Now, now. I’m going to revoke y’all’s incivility licenses, if you’re not more careful.}
