More on Bob “No Skeletons in My Closet” Hymers

Grim, but not serious.

Fundamentalist “leader” R.L. Hymers on The Wally George Show, encouraging people to follow him around with a camera–while condemning the art of the dance:

This wasn’t the Wally George episode I saw at the time, with the potty humor between those two, and neither one of them quite able to keep a straight face. But it gives you an idea what lies behind the Hymers phenomenon; keep in mind, though, that this “man of God” who holds the line against dancing to rock music is the same individual who repeatedly slapped parishioners and church elders, including females, and used obscene language.

The dancing revulsion is perfectly sincere, though: he once blew a gasket after a wedding at which people started dancing to salsa music.

Because Hymers can’t dance, and deeply envies people who can.

I think I can understand why he has managed to stay in the business he practices for so long (you might be tempted to say, “keep his racket going for so long”); he appears to recognize the need to restrain himself in the presence of people he does not control. In this video, people who were never victims of his evil (such as myself) see only another harmless bible-thumping windbag.
