Power, and Its Privileges

by Little Miss Attila on May 17, 2011

Droit de Seigneur:

Tristan Banon, the daughter of a political ally alleged that a sexual assault had occurred in 2002. But even when she refused to name her assailant, she was, she says, blacklisted by the establishment for even mentioning what was an open secret. Her advocate is now preparing to press charges against Strauss Kahn. More recently, DSK was admonished for a tumultuous affair in 2008 with an IMF employee with an episode at the World Economic Forum in Davos. It is an open secret that his conduct when dealing with women is far beyond the pale, even by European standards. But as a lion of the Left, he was able to get away with it until now.

“Droit de Seigneur” or “Right of the Lord” is a medieval term connoting the right of the Lord to take the virginity of his serfs daughters when they married. Lost in the fog of time, the practice as described may or may not have existed. What clearly did and does exist, even today, is a double standard for the rulers and the ruled.

And then, there’s Nina Burleigh, on Bill Clinton and his oral sex/perjury scandal:

I would be happy to give him a blowjob just to thank him for keeping abortion legal. I think American women should be lining up with their presidential kneepads on to show their gratitude for keeping the theocracy off our backs.

Which leads us to this:

IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn has claimed he only tried to fuck a New York maid because he thought she was a small Caribbean island in financial difficulty.

Mr Strauss-Kahn was remanded in custody in a New York jail despite protesting his arrest was merely the result of a case of mistaken identity.

An IMF spokesperson explained, “Forcing our engorged corporate genitals into the tiny crevices of small financially suffering countries is what the IMF is all about.”

“Once inside we pump them until they do exactly as we instruct – which only makes us harder. It’s a power thing, you know?”

Hat tips: Instapundit, American Digest. Insty also points us to this:

Under the current state of the law, it does not appear that the IMF has any grounds to assert immunity for DSK, even if it were inclined to do so (which it clearly is not). Moreover, thanks to Roman Polanski, DSK will have to spend at least some time at Riker’s Island. Is it possible that the whole affair is a set-up by DSK’s political opponents in France? Unless we see a plea deal, a New York jury will decide.

Well, Europe has to do what it has to do. But is the U.S. a nation of laws . . . or of men?

“Well, Europe has to do what it has to do. But is the U.S. a nation of laws . . . or of men?”

It’s the working class Republicans who jump at the chance to prostrate themselves before their betters.

Maybe this incident will help them see themselves as the rest of us see them?

Huh, does anyone even understand what ponce is trying to say? I sense a lot of bile and bitterness, but not much else. I think someone should talk to Soros – I don’t think he is getting his money’s worth.

You are confused. Working class Republicans have no betters.

It’s the Democrats that prostrate themselves before the Massa’a welfare check.

I see where ponce is coming from having witnessed first hand the vile hatred and irrational loathing that the left projects on all who disagree with them. Witness Madison, Wi. and the rabid drum circles of angst at having power stripped from their greedy little claws and returned to the people; the left became inhinged at the thought they, THEY the ubermenschen of politics might be defeated by the common volk.
Ponce suffers from the same projected delusions: class warfare, historical progression of socialist policies and now Droit de seigneur.
The only cure for liberalism is to grow up and get a real job.

@ponce: That’s unlikely, as only a handful of states permit the legal use of marijuana.

hit,

No matter how you spin it, you just don’t find Democratic WalMart greeters and McDonald’s fry cooks crying themselves to sleep over the marginal tax rate paid by the Koch Brothers.

The Republican members of the working class are a well trained cadre of dupes.

Typical lefty assertion, unsupported by fact.

For example, I like it how lefties( when Bush was in office, now not so much ) put crosses on the grass for killed US Army Rangers, Special Force team Sergent, Marine assault infantry, Armor tank Captains with Master Degrees from Stanford , Navy SEALS, because the left had personal permission to speak for these servicemen and used their deaths for their lefty, wimp, cowardly political delusions. ( You did have permission, right Ponce? )

Supposed ‘Working class’, and others are always voiceless victims to the left. Unless they have a AK=47, a red bandanna covered face and are slitting the throat open of some one, live on vid, in which case they are heroes . ( Not that they were asked, but the lefties speak for them too. That’s what the modern, soft, marginally employed, Western anti-democratic lefty does. Speak for every one, no matter what and provides your reason, even if it the opposite. Everyone is a class member for the lefty. It makes their ‘scientific’ ( snicker ) social policy oh-so-clean for the not too bright, average lefty parasite.

Paul, the life long construction worker.

ponce, since “the rest of us” includes the defenders of Clinton, Edwards and the Kennedys don’t expect anyone to rally to your side. It’s lonely being on the losing side of history.

The only problem with that news parody is that while he is “the world’s banker”, DSK is a communist. But of course communism has fucked more countries than the IMF ever has.

By rebuffing the approaches of the IMF, this poor representative of the Third World missed out on the opportunity for local enlargement and improvement, with concommitant privileges for closer relations.

Doesn’t sound as if the alleged sexual attack was successful. Maid says she got away screaming.

So, in the absence of RAPE rape, with merely an attempted rape for a charge, I’m thinking that maid is probably going to be unable to attend his trial and testify, what with having to fly over and take possession of her new villa on the French Riviera and all.

What is it with liberals who defend rapists? Or attempted rapists?

If ponce or bobby b cannot condemn even one clearly wrong act by a member of their side, you know they have no sense of right vs. wrong.

Let me ask you a hypothetical: What if it were YOUR daughter? Would you be so quick to forgive?

Wrong is wrong, people. Politics has nothing to do with it.

American justice – it’s for everyone. It doesn’t always work right, but does often enough to prevent its jettisoning. The thought of that man being locked up like anyone else accused of the same thing makes me proud of my country.

To understand the ethos of Ponce, et al, who is clearly projecting its own slavish character onto opponents, review the plot lines of WEEDS.

Of COURSE Ponce will defend DSK, as well as Edwards, Bubba, the Kennedys, and similar libertine “paladins of the people”. “Hell is empty, and all the devils are here,” indeed.

Whatever “ponce” is he is not very good at it. Though one has to give him credit for getting the negative reinforcement he slaves after and has some success at changing the issue to his lack of real intellectual capacity.

They’re worse than the old lords returned– they’re taking after the mythical/legendary lords that don’t have to deal with the restrictions the actual ones had. (See also, movements built around “reclaiming” ancient or obscure religious movements.)
