The Radar story about Weiner’s texting/phone dalliance.
At Big Government early in the day, Breitbart published some of the racy pix that Congressman Weiner appears to have sent his online correspondents–but withholds one that he says “leaves nothing to the imagination.” (In today’s press conference, he says that the decision to not publish the most incriminating photo was made to “spare his [Weiner’s] family.”)
The Radar and Big Government pieces seem to have prompted Rep Weiner to come clean–hence, today’s presser.
The CBS News account of Weiner’s appearance today, in which he confesses to several of these internet affairs, but asserts that he has been physically faithful to his wife. He says he will not step down from Congress.
Breitbart took the mic (apparently as someone’s urging) at the same press conference, but before the congressman arrived. He asked for an apology from Rep Weiner, and by all accounts received it a few minutes later–for which I admire the congressman.
Weiner also apologized profusely to his wife during the presser. She had apparently known about at least one of these e-affairs before they married, but he kept her in the dark about that infamous Memorial Day Weekend tweet until today.

Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi is talking about an ethics investigation, which presumably is all about creating distance between Weiner and the Democratic Party–but it frankly sounds like a waste of money to me. And there’s this, from Ann Althouse:
He’s not resigning, and he’s not splitting up with his wife, he said. I don’t know if he can control all that. If you were his wife, would you leave him? Realize that you don’t know what their understandings are. She may very well accept this behavior. He doesn’t physically contact the other women. He does things on line that sophisticated people might characterize as more like enjoying pornography than like having an in-person sexual affair.
NOTE: I’m not suggesting you’re unsophisticated if you don’t minimize this behavior and liken it to the use of pornography. I’m not even saying that you’re unsophisticated if you expect husbands to refrain from using pornography… and from masturbating. But I do think that intelligent spouses draw their lines in different places.

And of course there was his weasel worded ‘to the best of my knowledge’ they were all adults crap. First off, that won’t keep a private citizen out of jail if they tried it, and secondly, there’s no reason at this point to care what he says he believed, or even if he cared either way. He’s lied too often and too thoroughly.
