The Exodus from Gingrich’s Campaign

by Little Miss Attila on June 9, 2011

Twelve top staffers in a single day; that’s a lot of people to lose in one fell swoop.

Many suspect that a significant number of these people are in fact defecting to a possible Rick Perry campaign; PJTV’s Roger L. Simon is among them, and suggests that the nomination may now be “Perry’s to lose.” It’s possible, though I’d advise a bit of caution.

And the defections cannot only mean that Perry is hinting at a run, because Sonny Perdue has landed on his feet . . . in the Pawlenty camp. On the same day, one must note, that he left his position as co-chair of Gingrich’s campaign.

There is clearly more going on here than Gingrich’s political baggage, his ill-timed vacation, and hints of an insurgent Perry campaign.

But you know who this really benefits? Tim Pawlenty.

UPDATE: More here.

UPDATE 2: Aha!

UPDATE 3: Spelling fixed on Gov. Perdue’s name. Thanks!

Pawlenty?

Really?

The important thing is to never back a candidate that has a chance of winning?

‘Perdue’, not ‘Purdue’.One is a conservative icon stuck in the past, the other used to be governor of Georgia.
