The Latest on the Chrysler-Dealership Closings.

Director Blue has a statistical analysis that appears to suggest that the political contributions from dealer owners played a part. Obviously, I’m not trained to evaluate the figures on that, so I’ll just provide the link.

Meanwhile, Gateway Pundit has a master roundup/update, including a list of the players in the White House Task Force and the news that Chrysler will—as we’ve discussed here in my comment threads—apparently be opening new dealerships to close down the ones they shut down.

What we have yet to hear from these people is the reasoning behind the way this is being handled. I’d like to know what the supposed strategy is, because it just looks worse and worse, the longer they let it drag on without presenting any sort of overarching rationale.

Actually, at this point I’d be pretty happy with just an excuse.

Or if Nancy Pelosi would just come out and stammer something from a pre-prepared statement that didn’t make a lot of sense? That would be better than what we’re getting now, which is silence in the face of a situation that just looks . . . well, abysmal.

And is the MSM going to look into this in any meaningful way, or is it still on its goddamned coffee break?

That’s a sweet job. A coffee break that lasts 4 years!
