Buy April Winchell’s iPhone App

Yeah, I know: she gets in a dig at Focus on the Family, though I don’t see a reference to the so-called “gay agenda” on their website.* The folks at FotF do maintain that gays should be celibate, a stance that is asserted in a lot of orthodox Christian traditions. I’m pretty laid back about most theological takes except that one that suggests homosexuality doesn’t really exist. That one is yucky.

So we’re cool, there. And since I don’t think the state should be in the marriage business, and that people should be able to designate anyone he/she chooses as a recipient of Federal benefits . . . well, I think we can agree to disagree, and only throw ripe fruit at each other, rather than the stuff that’s already started to rot. *

And, babies: Project Angel Food is a worthy charity—and privately funded, too. Send them dough. Yippee!

UPDATE: Total loose shit on my part; April corrects me in the comments section. It turns out the FotF people do believe in the Grand Unifying Scheduling Mechanism held in common by all nonstraight people, and my surface-level review of the Focus on the Family site didn’t bring in front of my headachey eyes.

Which, again: I can’t even keep track of my own appointments; I can’t imagine having to look ’em up in concert with millions of others.

Sorry, April!

Buy her iPhone app again, okay?

* I mean, really—all gay people in this country have the same calendar? How do they know individually where they have to go, and when? Doesn’t it get kind of scibbled-over?

** The potential pun wasn’t really intended, but I’ll take credit anyway.

Wait – sorry. It IS on their website.

And then there’s True Tolerance, another Focus on the Family Website that takes on the “pro-gay agenda”.

I knew I saw it somewhere!
