I just don’t know about Meghan McCain. Like AllahP and Moe in their own ways, my own political positions even out to something only just right of center. God bless Meghan for speaking her mind, and one must remember that she is just a child, but it’s as if:

1) she invented gay-tolerant Republicanism—which is just insulting to both gays and Republicans; and

2) she is attempting a caricature of her father’s, um, not-100%-successful political and media-relations formula. Did she not notice how the legacy media turned on a dime and started slamming her dad the second he got the GOP nomination for the Presidency? I do not think she is making any lasting friends on either side of the divide, here. Nor even advancing the discussion, if “advancing the discussion” means something other than throwing around stereotypes about what Neanderthals all conservatives are whose names are not “McCain” (and, presumably, a few whose names are exactly that).

I’m all for calling ‘em like you see ‘em, but there comes a point when it should be okay—it is okay—to agree with the people whom you agree with. AllahAwful:

[W]hy would anyone listen to criticism of their own side from someone who doesn’t (yet) have credibility? I tried to explain that to her, both here and on Twitter, but the message simply hasn’t taken — the proof of which is the fact that she’s now tangled with Coulter, Ingraham, and the boss in high-profile fashion and has yet to tangle (as far as I know) with anyone of similar prominence on the left. All the vitriol spilled this week by the Democrats about health-care protesters, all the demagoguery directed at her fellow conservatives, and the thing that sticks in her craw the most is … Michelle taking a one-line shot at her during a public chat?

And Meghan’s suggestion that Michelle wants moderates like her to “get out of the party” is absurd: for crying out loud, Michelle Malkin is AllahP’s employer. She pays him to publish his squishy claptrap, whereas people like Moe and me just publish our squishy claptrap and then pass the hat around.

P.S. No jokes about her weight, folks. This ain’t about looks, and you know it. Besides, most of you straight males would hit it like an anvil on Wile E. Coyote. Don’t lie to me about a thing like that.

I wouldn’t hit it like an anvil on Wile E, my wife has this cute little LadySmith .38. I sit around complaining about that durned liberal Rush Limbaugh but I have no particular quarrle with the gays. I’m pretty sure gay marriage would have passed if not for the larger than normal black Democrat vote because of Obama. I suspect it would have passed anyway if not for nonsense like that Folsom St. Fair.

As far as Ms. McCain’s politics, she is just another kid thinking she invented middle of the road politics. Just like the other kids who think they invented leftist politics and those other kids who invented conservatism. I don’t mind people voting at eightteen, there should, however, be a constitutional amendment prohibiting anyone younger than thirty-five talking about politics.

Maybe Meghan should start thinking of people in her own party as family.

I’d rather hang out, though, with Cindy. She’s into Drifting and she can afford a lot
better iron than I can right now. Someone has to drive that back to the garage, you know.

Would have her with X’s wedding tackle and Y doing the work.
Some guys are both not into blonds and hopelessly romantically monogamistic.
    It happens.

Nah, couldn’t handle the SS and the playbook.

Exactly. Also: other than the accident of her birth to a particular set of parents, what makes her newsworthy? yes, Meggie Mac, this is why I don’t give a damn about what you have to say. Your opinion is worth the same as mine, and I’ve been on this planet a wee bit longer than you and so my opinions are backed by some experience. Your’s, Meggie Mac? not so much.

Besides, most of you straight males would hit it like an anvil on Wile E. Coyote.

Get it right. The term is I’d hit that like the 8th Air Force hit Dresden.

I’ve always thought she was hot in her own way - most women are. And I like curves and boobs and butts. The fact that she could hook me up with all the beer I could drink is only that much more intriguing.

Frankly I found her very not worth following a long time ago. The young blond space cadet force is strong with this one. Which is not to say I don’t find her physically attractive–curves and all. Coyote. Anvil. All that.

    C’mon guys, it’s about *if*!

Question is , would I respect her in the morning?
