Melissa Clouthier and Kevin Jennings

She’s of the mind that he did cross the line. I’m not so sure.

Of course, I got into an argument once with my best friend’s mother about whether my mom’s abusiveness toward my psuedo-stepfather (and toward me) might be at all justified by the fact that he had had to have surgery for prostate cancer.

The friend’s mother insisted that my mother’s relationship had probably been destroyed by that, even though my mom had explained that sex would proceed normally, only without ejaculate.

The argument reached an impasse when I realized that at the age of 14 years I knew the meanings of words such as “ejaculate,” and she—a woman in her forties—did not.

Clouthier’s insistence that teenagers know “which parts go where” seems a little bit naive to me.

Whether we should have a Federal “safe schools czar” is, of course, a different issue: I happen to think we’d be better off eliminating that position, versus firing Kevin Jennings.

He withheld information about a colleague having sex with a minor student. I say we abolish the office AND fire Kevin Jennins… ideally from one of the old bombards on Edinburgh castle, but I’m sure we can work something locally to avoid increasing the deficit…
