On that “President Haughty” Pic . . .

by Little Miss Attila on January 3, 2010

Yeah, he was talking to Biden. But if you can’t be polite to someone, you shouldn’t pick them as your Veep.

The big bombshell of the day, though, is that NiceDeb has found the original image, and it appears that there’s an element that was p-shopped out of it before the folks at the White House placed the pic on Flickr. (Scroll down in her entry to see what was there in the beginning; it’s shocking that the White House staffers would manipulate an image that deceptively.)

UPDATE: Apparently, Andrew Sullivan has weighed in with some kind of crazy, race-based analysis that ignores the simple fact that most of us, if we let the mask slip with our second-in-commands, would instruct our staffs not to place pix of same on our companies’ Flickr pages. Nor post shots of our offices being vacuumed while we handled huges crises from Hawaii. Nor post images of us shrugging or throwing our hands up while being briefed on matters of national security.

It ain’t about the fact that Obama was rude to Biden; it’s about the fact that his people, by displaying that photo, were bragging on the President’s rudeness. Which is just freakin’ weird.

Joy, thanks for the link, and check out my update. Sully has weighed in. It was hard for the untrained eye to spot, but, apparently this story is just the latest example of right wing racism.
