Tonight’s Backburner Stock: Garlic

With a little salt pork I’ll take out soon. As of tomorrow-ish, this will be soup. I just haven’t decided on whether it will also contain meatballs, baby limas, or turkey meat.

I”m thinking baby lima beans. That way we save the turkey for sandwiches, and the ground beef for I’m-not-sure-yet-but-I’ll-know-it-when-I-think-of-it.

You can never go wrong with garlic. Mr. Potter hated garlic eaters–wouldn’t you rather be on the side of George Bailey?

Lima beans need an onion cut up in ’em, too, and a couple of bay leafs. Can’t cook beans without bay leaf, it’s the rules. If you don’t put bay leaf in the International Bean Cooker’s Union will picket your house.
