I think Eugene has this one right—meaning Justice Thomas got it right as well. Much as I strongly dislike the idea of the criminal justice system having to lock up any juvenile for life, there’s no reason it should be taken off the table as “cruel and unusual” no matter how awful the crime.

It’s not like the dude accidentally committed armed robbery, or he had no notion that it was wrong.
