Oh, I Don’t Know, Peggy.

You want unlucky?

How about a President who is at a grade-school reading a story when two jet airliners fly into skyscrapers, one goes into the Pentagon, and one doesn’t hit the capitol building only because its passengers give up their lives to run it into the ground in Pennsylvania? A guy who is then scooped up by the Secret Service and kept in the air most of the day until they can figure out the extent of the attack?

That would make a man “snake-bitten,” for sure. This Gulf thing is just poor management. Krauthammer has some suspicions as to why.

UPDATE: Carol has more, and an awesome “snakebitten” graphic.

Oh yeah and don’t forget the “luster” that has not faded from Hillary as she helps in the bowing to North Korea, in the alienation of Israel, in creating more animosity to the UK (about Argentina) and in giving the stiff arm to Arizona for BHO and the team. Noonan relies on her emotional political-sensory 11th grade writing talents and her prized seat on the WSJ to pass off this mish-mash. No surprise to see the written transcript of one her Harvard lectures reading like an incoherent drunken old grandmother’s rant. Noonan is a pathetic relic but worse than that her pretension of honesty is a scam to have you looking at the table settings without noticing the rancid meat that is being served.

Peggy seems to be drifting towards Helen, each and every day.

The lovely thing about Peggy Noonan is that her point of view rolls around like a loose 8 ball on the deck of a sailboat in rough water. You never know where she’s coming from next. Before Obama was elected she gushed about him.
Three weeks ago she was explaining her disappointment and disillusionment with him by whining “He was supposed to be competent!”. Now she says he’s simply “snakebit”.

Round n round Peggy goes; where she stops, nobody knows.

How did you manage to leave out the fact that as soon as he heard about the attack, he sprung into action? The Obamanation just played more rounds of golf.

Why did anyone expect Obama to be competent? He never ran any organization of significant size in his whole life. Certainly, he might have turned out to be competent by accident, but there was no actual reason to expect him to be anything but in over his head.

Peggy is a sentimentalist. Her best work is all about emotion and the evocation of fine and resonant sentiments. This is something you have to keep in mind when reading her: she is not an intellectual. (This is not a statement about her intelligence level; what I mean is that she doesn’t approach issues analytically.) If her emotional imagination is triggered, she will be enthusiastic. Otherwise she’ll be a wet blanket.

Obama caught her emotionally; she had soaring feelings when considering his candidacy, and that’s what counts for her. Logical analysis was not part of the picture.

This can’t be happening! Obama went to the best schools! Why Palin went to several lower caste schools to get her degree, Obama just has to be better than that. It’s just bad luck! Snakebit!

I still contend there is a reason we never saw this clown’s transcripts.
