Dude! What if You Like Your Dopamine?

by Little Miss Attila on December 16, 2008

What if you like it . . . well, a lot?

People who aren’t looking for ways to get more dopamine into their systems, are . . . . well, they aren’t very smart.

Why don’t you try Twitter? It’s the perfect arena for experiencing the internet up-close-and-meaningless. I’ll follow you; I’ll even favorite your posts.

I am now wracking my brain, trying to figure out what my current drug of choice is. Probably Persian food and books by Virginia Postrel.

Oddly enough the drug commonly called “dope” does not interact with dopamine receptors at all. In fact it has its own special receptors that God built into the brain–the cannabinoid receptors.

Apparently the reason I don’t like chocolate in the way that many other people do is that I don’t have the correct receptors for it. Thus, it is merely a food to me. That’s why I tend to go for the lemon desserts.
