Loves our lawmakers, who may or may not turn selling handcrafted products into a crime.
They may create exemptions for products that don’t contain lead (or products that have to, but wherein the lead is inaccessible to children). Nonetheless, we need to hold their feet to the fire and make sure that they do.
Congresscritters are like five-year-olds; you can’t take your eyes off them, even for a moment.

We have to let them know that they have to get the idea out of their heads. This will affect everything sold by private sellers–a.k.a. ‘the little guys.’ What products can not be handled by someone 12 or younger? The law is so vague it could apply to all products/all sellers. Will Ebay add a $4000 certification charge at checkout? Makes that $0.99 ‘steal’ quite expensive, doesn’t it?
I rather see all of Congress dumped in Boston Harbor…Wait. Maybe that’s a necessary first step for anything.
Why don’t we just teach children not to put anything in their mouths like we did when we still tossed chamber pot contents out the windows. And trust, but verify, as long as we’re at it. Lead testing of children actually shows it’s not a problem. Maybe we should just go with that rather than knee-jerk reactions.
