Obama Dines at George Will’s House

by Little Miss Attila on January 13, 2009

with a few conservative luminaries, apparently not including Rush Limbaugh, despite the latter’s suspicious trip to Washington, D.C. today.

All I want to know about dinner with Will, Krauthammer, Brooks, and Kristol is: were there preconditions?

h/t for the HuffPo link goes to Hot Air.

No. But there are postconditions.

Clinton tried to get Limbaugh on board in the first weeks of his administration, telling him that they were more alike than different. Limbaugh disagreed. The Media offered a TV deal compared to Oprah’s if L would be equally critical to Republicans as Clinton. John McCain apparently took that deal. For free.

Apparently everybody thought Rush was in DC yesterday -including the guy filling in for him, who seemed properly gleeful. I guess I’m not that surprised…Obama just doesn’t strike me as possessing that kind of cutting edge [ the sort of intrepid-ness it would take to invite Rush in for canapes] Instead, I’m hearing about a guy who is ‘open for suggestions’.
Hardly the sort of rhetoric to restore confidence in the oval office.
