I Have Made an Unfortunate Discovery.

Microwaveable bacon.

This, right after I swore off of microwaveable frozen sausages because the salt level was more than I could handle.

And yet . . . I don’t think I can live off of breakfast cereal and fruit forever. And, of course, going back to cooking is so far out of the question I can’t even imagine it right now—it’s like another dimension: the Real Food Dimension.

Is it safe to buy peanut butter again? PB & J has never let me down; it’s one of the few things in life that hasn’t.

Microwaved bacon: it’s meat candy.

As long as you buy PB by the jar you should be safe. This might be a time to stick to Peter Pan and Skippy (ConAgra and Unilever) instead of boutique brands. So far, only manufactured products where peanut butter is an ingredient are affected.
Stay away from anything that says Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) for the time being. Avoid Jimmy Carter just because.

You want me to shun stud/god James Carter, after everything he’s done for this country?

Yes–as hard as that may be for you. . . Call it tough love.
