At least Nixon’s staff tried to cover up its dirty tricks—almost as if the dirty tricks were dirty. The Obama Administration prefers to operate out in the open, and on a certain level I respect that fact.
But the spectacle of a White House siccing reporters and union thugs after people who are simply asking that their rights be respected in a legal proceeding is . . . a bit deflating to one’s ego as an American.
For the first time in my life, I’m not proud of my country.
