Nothing that the girl’s mother said trumps the girl’s “no.” Nothing negates the creepiness of giving champagne and ‘ludes to a child.
The guy was in his forties. And, last time I checked, Ms. Applebaum, it isn’t legal for women to pimp out their underage children who are still years from the age of consent (contra your earlier, fact-challenged assertions). And even if it were—even if the girl were a hooker, and ten years older, and still in a hot tub—no means . . . no.
Why is this so difficult? Were you never a young teenager? Are you made out of metal, Ms. Applebaum?

Having dated a number of woman that had daughters about the victim’s age, I can attest to the fact that there is no shortage of, well, delicious looking 13 year olds with short, short skirts, a curious look and an interest in exploring the world. And that’s natural and their right but with equally interested young teenage boys – not horny old men. That’s why we have strong laws against childhood rape. This low life needs to be given enough time – behind bars – to finally understand that.
