. . . is a Roman Catholic ministry that is non-denominational in its charitible outreach. It’s located near Julian, California, in San Diego County. (I love Julian, by the way: It’s an old pioneer mining town that now is dominated by tourism and the trade from surrounding apple orchards. The hiking around there is terrific, too.)
As we all figure out our gameplans for giving at year’s end, I’d like to put in a plug for Whispering Winds. I know of at least one case wherein a respected member of the blogging community was facing huge challenges, and was enveloped by the kindness of the folks at this camp. The whole family was. It’s a truly generous operation, and I’m grateful that it’s there.
I’d like them to continue to give scholarships to kids who are in need, so consider making them part of your holiday-giving strategy.
Thanks.
