. . . on the President’s address: “‘America – we are passing through a time of great trial.’ I wanted to feel that line, but the delivery was cold and perfunctory. I had to imagine Reagan saying it to understand what it was supposed to mean.”

That had to hurt.

Somewhere, Stephen Green is taking on a Valley Girl accent and complaining: “Being President is hard.”

Well. Yeah. It is.

Lucky thing it’s not a war. It was a war when Bush wasn’t paying enough attention.

Now, though, it’s an Overseas Contingency Operation. That is why he did not mention victory.
