Nothing Says “Tea Party Activism”

by Little Miss Attila on January 12, 2010

. . . like “no media allowed.”

Via the Daily Caller.

Also, those of you who haven’t read Erick Erickson on the Tea Party Convention and Sarah Palin’s role therein will want to do so.

I have nothing against Sarah making a buck, but I’m growing skeptical about this particular Tea Party convention. And while my stance toward CPAC and the ACU is not uncritical, both the conference and the organization have done a lot of good for libertarians and conservatives over the years.

Furthermore, we don’t need to tear down existing events and organizations; we need to build new ones, and keep the ideas flowing.

There is something to be said for the “keep ’em guessing” strategy with the media whether I agree with it politically or not. Similar to a love interest, it may spark more curiosity if one stays a bit secretive to a degree. A sense of mystery can be a tool. Besides, what has the media done for the TEA Party other than scorn and degrade it/us? – That being said, I too hope that Erick is wrong.
