More on Obama’s Virtual Colonoscopy

Insty has an important follow-up:

MY POST YESTERDAY noting Obama’s “virtual colonoscopy” and how it’s not covered under Medicare produced this response from physician reader Tim Johnson:

There is one reason and one reason alone why we should give Obama a pass on the virtual colonoscopy: President Joe Biden. Colonoscopies require general anesthesia, which would require a temporary transfer of power to Biden. Who knows which country Biden would [have] trisect[ed] during the procedure. I for one applaud this judicious use of money.

Good point. Thanks, Mr. President!

Regarding Peter’s comment yesterday, I’m not positive the President skated on the DRE aspect of things.

Of course, I’ve had enough of those to last me a lifetime: I went to college at a university with a medical school, so the student health service provided excellent care—but it was very complete. Every pelvic exam I had at UCLA included that, and it was a great relief when I left school and found out that private gynecologists don’t usually do that to a 20-something female unless there’s an actual reason.
