My impression is that he’s a Christian or a Muslim only in the sense that Nixon was a Quaker. That is, it’s part of his upbringing and family background but not something that’s seriously a part of his life. In that sense he could easily be a Christian and a Muslim at the same time, like being a moderately uncommitted admirer of two different baseball teams.
I love the “He gets a scripture email every day” defense. I would hope even atheists would take the time to read a bullet point text message from the Bible everyday, there’s some decent wisdom and respect for civilization in ‘der hills.
First of all, according to the Muslims themselves, everyone raised by a Muslim father is automatically a Muslim, whether they like it or not.
Obama likes it plenty well enough.
