How Close Were We to Just Nuking Baghdad?

by Little Miss Attila on September 11, 2011

Not close. But it did cross our minds.

I’m so glad that George W. Bush was President that day.

Nuking Mecca and Medina would have been more appropriate, IMO.

That’s the thing that bothers me about “the warmonger Bush” meme . Had President Bush wanted to the Islamic world could have been damned near obliterated by around noon 9/12/01. Perhaps he might have been impeached but the deed would have been done.

What saved Islam is President Bush’ humanity and Christian ethics. Ten years later I am not sure those bombers and missiles should have flown. I regret that my fund of kindly humanitarianism sometimes runs short. I would cheerfully slaughter millions of Muslims to save just one of my grandchildren so much as a skinned knee.

President Bush is not responsible for killing innocent people around the world. It was the bombs and the bullets that killed those people. When will we get it that people do not kill people but guns and bullets do. As long as we keep making them bombs, someone has to sell them and make a profit and someone has to continually use them so new equipment could be made and used.

Nah, Azmay. We used to kill people with rocks instead of bullets. In fact, some people still use rocks.

What kills people, Azmay, is some peoples’ arrogant assumption that they have the right to compel others to live as they dictate. And who do we see doing that in the world today? Who wants to impose sharia on the whole world? Muslims.

The world would be a more peaceful place, Azmay, if Islam withered away and died.
