Happy Thanksgiving!

by Little Miss Attila on November 27, 2008

I’m thankful to be healthy, brilliant, and not too hard on the eyes.

I’m thankful to have things to do, and clients to annoy.

I’m thankful to live in an age when a lot of people stand a fighting chance against cancer that they wouldn’t have a generation ago, and when heart-bypass operations are likely to be successful.

I’m thankful to live in a time and place when a family losing a child is an aberration, rather than the norm.

I’m thankful for my husband, and for my good friends—some of whom I’ve known for thirty years or better.

I’m thankful to have achieved an actual friendship with my mother, in which we deal with things more or less as they come up, rather than letting them fester.

I’m thankful for New Media, which gives me objective, varied sources of information—and an outlet for my writing.

I’m thankful to have a condo to live in, and orange juice in the fridge.

And I’m thankful to my readers, for providing me with an audience, and fairly instantaneous feedback.

God bless you all.

Say a prayer of thanksgiving today—and please remember to pray for the victims of terrorism in India. It will feel strange eating turkey as others suffer, and we must help in whatever way we can as the days and weeks go on.
