Hulu Did Not Meet My Expectations.

It does not seem to contain that episode of the 1970s detective show The Snoop Sisters that guest-starred Alice Cooper.

I will hold my breath until this matter is corrected.

Someone will probably come along now and tell me that there is other stuff on television right now that is just as trashy—or, in some cases, just as good—as 1970s detective shows. But if I were to watch those now, in 35 years I would have a hankering to see some old episode of Numb3rs or whatever once more. And there is a danger that I might even spend Good Money on this endeavor. (In my family, one never spends Bad Money on a project, because there is no such thing.)

By then, of course, my husband and I will have moved into the basement of one of my nephews’ homes—secretly, as squatters—and will not be able to afford DVDs or whatever media people are using at that point to record their airhead-entertainment nonsense.

Besides which, CSI New York may not be available in a close-caption format, which would be a must for me; by then I’ll likely be as deaf as a post—or maybe deafer. And in any event, keeping the volume low will be imperative lest one of the nephews discover us in the basement and kick us out—or tell on us by alerting my brother to our clandestine housing arrangements.

And it’s very likely that no one will have put out a Snoop Sisters DVD by then, either.

Television can be a vicious cycle for those who cope with bouts of nostalgia.
