For a guy claiming all through his post that he was making no value judgments it sure seemed that his post was just dripping with value judgments. Or am I just a pore dumb redneck?

Actually, it’s not our necks that are red, it’s the reflection off the backs of our ears.

Pretty astute observation, Peter… …especially for a poor dumb redneck… 8>)

Sometimes I’m not so sure the guy reads what he writes, to see whether the sentences make sense in context. He’ll write things like “You’re an asshole, with all due respect.” blind to the fact that there’s zero respect in calling someone an asshole.

Even though he admitted as little fault in the matter as possible, I’m glad he finally responded to those, like our host, who criticized his behavior as concerns Erin Andrews. His many posts on the subject, and especially his posting a link to the illegal video as a “Rule 5 exclusive,” essentially exploited Erin Andrews for cheap blog hits. (And, having opposed him in the past, I’m not the least bit surprised in HOW he responded either. False analogy & blame-storming seem to come naturally to him.)

If one good thing came out of it, it’s that he decided to rethink luring in the internet lechers with that “Rule 5” bait-n-switch, just to get a few more hits. There’s nothing wrong with posting pictures of beautiful men or women on one’s blog, but it’s unseemly to do so just to get blog hits, especially when you advertise your motives as you do it.

Whatever one’s opinion of rule 5 though, there is a difference between a willing model and an unwilling one, and no amount of “newsworthiness” justifies posting pictures, videos, or links to pix/videos of unwilling models captured illegally or immorally. Dr. Douglas’ examples of the guy who snapped pix of his neighbor shaving her legs, and the “jailbait swimsuit” rule fiver are just creepy… …but no more so than those–including Dr. Douglas himself– who posted links to the Erin Andrews illegal peephole video.

I’m still laughing at the idea of him claiming I’ve demonstrated my “radical feminist bona fides” without offering a single shred of evidence to back it up.

Let me see if I have this straight: any woman who disagrees with a man is a radical feminist? (note he doesn’t accuse any of the men who took issue with his posts radical feminists)

What a hoot 🙂

I couldn’t agree more and you describe the crux of the matter perfectly. This is my position exactly.

blind to the fact that there’s zero respect in calling someone an asshole.

I was of the opinion that telling the truth was never disrespectful. Am I wrong?

It depends upon whether one’s definition of “respect” includes some modicum of tact. YMMV.
