Take egg salad and put between 2 slices of bread.

Pretty straightforward, if you ask me. And you did.

You’d think a literal-minded girl like me would have known she was delivering a straight line . . .

I’d keep it simple unless you’ve already burned out your taste buds with spices. Freshly cooked eggs, warm, minimal spicing and chopping with an emphasis on the right mix of yolk and whites in every bite, and some basic additions. I’d use finely chopped crunchy celery, chives, and olives, and bacon and vary their use every time to change things up. Don’t overdo it. Use softened Smart Balance instead of mayo at times, as well. Try your favorite ranch dressing instead of mayo. Use good fresh bread–I prefer a cruchy thin crust–or use a lightly toasted buttered croissant

We put diced oil-cured black olives in ours.

Eggs, real mayo, green bell pepper (small dice – adds a nice crunch), tiny pinch of dry mustard, pinch of dill, salt & pepper, spread on pumpernickel w/some lettuce. Yum!

The bachelor geek’s version:

One hard-boiled egg. Slice it with an egg slicer. You’ll get 6 to 8 slices, depending.
Two pieces of bread. I like it toasted. The bread should be the squishy white bread kind.
Mayonnaise on both bread slices. (A little mustard, for festive occasions.) Artistically arrange the egg slices on one piece of bread. Carefully put the other slice on top. Cut the sandwich diagonally.
Consume the nourishment.

For mayonnaise, try this one:

Baconnaise

It may be hard to find. You can put bacon bits (real bacon only!) in the mayo.

This one looks reaaly good:

Bacon and horseradish egg salad

PS: Tomato slices go quite well on (in?) egg salad sandwiches.
