I am supposed to have an opinion on Michelle’s ballgowns.
Unfortunately, in order for me to do that, I would have to actually look at raw coverage of yesterday’s proceedings, and/or view pictures of same.
And I cannot be bothered.
I saw one dress she wore yesterday that looked fairly dreadful: some black-and-red creation that had the effect of bisecting her body. It was an unfortunate dress, but there will be other dresses.
The asymmetrical white one would have been smashing if it had not been asymmetrical, and if her hair had more curl to it: it couldn’t compete with the dress. But other than that, the white one showed off her smokin’, athletic body.
Michelle Obama has striking looks and undeniable charisma. I don’t really have any quarrel with her.
And I don’t have any quarrel with her husband, yet. So far his actions seem a bit limp: a high noise-to-signal ratio. But that, too, will change. One way or another, he doesn’t get to vote “present” in this job.
Can we all grow up now, just a little? We’ve known the lay of the land since before Thanksgiving, and we ought, ideally, be preserving our energy for things that matter.
Usually, I admire people who watch television; they clearly have stronger stomachs than I.
But if you have the sensation that the Obamas are being shoved down your throat—already—I have two suggestions: either (a) turn the TV off for a while, or (b) do something about that gag reflex. Because it is going to be a long four years.

But you see, that would require tuning out such gems as Iowahawk’s latest.
No, I’m having too much fun at present. I may bore of this later, when real issues begin to emerge.
That really rawked . . . He’s posting a lot over at BigHollywood.com, BTW.
It’s gonna be an even longer eight years, comrade.
That could well be!
