Gates of Fire . . .

Gates: Sure, I’ll have a beer with Crowley and Obama

Sounds fun, especially for Crowley. What better way to spend a Saturday night than being lectured by two leftist Ivy League pedants on a subject you’re already an expert in? If the rhetoric has already reached the point of teeth-gnashing pretentiousness demonstrated below — “larger meaning,” “teaching moment” — imagine what it’ll be like in person.

Maybe they can have a “friendly” chat about that documentary on racial profiling that Crowley’s inspired Gates to make.

If I were Crowley, I’d remember that I had to get my hair trimmed that day. Police regulations, you know . . .

Ace chimes in:

I can’t think of anything more likely to result in peace and harmony than feeding alcohol to the extremely angry and brittle Professor Gates.

I myself find that I’m a bit confused; I sort of thought Obama was gainfully employed, and had better things to do than intervene in a police dispute in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Attila the Hub says what he always says: “He thinks the Presidency is a good job. You know: like all the jobs he’s had.”

Which is, of course, what scares me.

Patterico: “I wouldn’t have a beer with someone who called me a liar.” Not to mention that the “lie” in question was actually a supposedly falsified police report—criminal conduct on Crowley’s part, if it were true.

Yanno, when I first pinned on the badge, right out of the service, There were still a lot of places where Gates’ behavior would have got a sap glove ‘cross the kisser, a set of cuffs jammed on tight and being dragged by the feet down the stairs.
You remember those days? When it was safe for people to take their children on the subway or downtown?
We sure have come a long way. Black people don’t have to ride in the back of the bus anymore, instead they get shot at the bus stop. Progress.
The funny thing is, today the average LEO spends far more time with minority peers than Harvard professors. Any city that uses two (wo)man patrol cars, the bluesuits spend eight, or more hours a day cooped up together. And much of the time those are mixed race partners. That doesn’t fit teh narrative, though and it’s all about teh narrative.

Sgt Crowley is the only actual human in this trio. Obama and Gates distanced themselves from their fellow man when they became affirmative action Zeros Neither of these Elite Snobs has a clue how ordinary people work and live.
No wonder the French citizens put this class of people under the Guillotine.
These two Turkeys have nothing in common with the ordinary Citizens of the U.S.

Sure sounds like yet another case of hypersensitivity. If Gates and I were walking down a sidewalk toward each other and I crossed over to the other side, to Gates it would automatically be because he was black. Whereas to me I was simply crossing to the side of the street shaded by buildings ’cause it’s 100+ degrees outside.

Sure sounds alot like reverse-racism to me.
